Thanksgiving!!

For the week around Thanksgiving, my (Shannon's) family came to Houston for their first visit! They were able to be a part of our moving-into-the-house fun of cleaning, organizing, and painting but we also had a lot of time to relax, explore the area, and enjoy visiting!!
Graham loved being wheeled around by his Grandaddy!
A trip to the park was definitely in order (a convenient two streets down from our house!)

Something was clearly very funny between Graham and Gramma!

Cooking up a storm for the big meal...

While food was in the oven, I stayed back at the house with Graham (naptime for both of us) and Nat took my family around to some of the areas nearby that were hit by Ike... these were taken from about 5-10 minutes from where we live - we're pretty close to the bay.

Kicking back after a yummy dinner with our new friend, James, who joined us!
Graham found his collection of bibs and thought Grandaddy needed one too!
A trip to the zoo!! "Aunt Riah" was quite the sport, willing to crawl through tunnels for Graham to have some extra fun!
Nat couldn't join us for this fun outing, so I took this picture. I'm sure that if he was there, he would have jumped in for a photo-op.

Our very own prairie dogs!
Nat's favorite animals: The goats!

A bonus to having family in town: date night for us! Here we are begging to be let out of the gate :o)
Maybe Nat wanted to live the zoo experience... I'm not quite sure what compelled him to get inside one of the kitchen cabinets, but Graham sure loved it! I'm still amazed that he actually fit!!
Another thing we wanted to try to do while my family was in town was to go to Galveston for a quick trip. It's about a half hour away from where we live so we piled into the jeep and tried to beat the sunset so we could still see it in the light. We almost made it, but still enjoyed the beach for a little while anyway!

Before flying home, Graham got one last horse ride from Aunt Riah...
It was super sad to leave them at the airport, but we're excited to see them again soon!!
